Huntington Beach Concours d'Elegance Car Show 2012

The Huntington Beach Concours d'Elegance Car Show is this weekend at the Central Library. Yesterday my daughter and I worked as volunteers and I was glad that it wasn't too warm. We were there for six hours so I used my break to walk around and shoot some pics. There is a fenced off section with a walk way through it. Curious, I went through it only to find some gorgeous flowers and nature hiding in it.

Saturday was the day for the hot rods, muscle and vintage cars.

 Motorcycles too... Loved this one.

And then this old car... we used to collect these stickers when we traveled in the seventies. We put them on water glasses. My sisters and I sat in the back of our parent's Oldsmobile and drove from state to state. Are we there yet?

This event is operated by non-paid volunteers to raise money for library operations. Go visit sometime. It provides books, supplies and upgrades to the children's section of the public library, and keeps it's status as one of the best children's libraries on the west coast.
A long day, but great being in the park.

  1. Beautiful photographs Patti!
I soooo remember that trip. It was so hot in the back of the car that we stopped in every gas station and got wet paper towels to cool us off. Does mom still have those glasses?

    1. Don't know about that one! I'm thinking she got rid of them years ago... Crazy, huh?
