Senior Yearbook Dedication Pages

It has been quite the busy year for me, which business wise, is a great thing. I thought I'd finally do a post to show you just a bit of fun that I had. The first three are yearbook dedication sections for my son. Only the first one is the winner. The second was a "what the heck" from him, and the third was, "really mom, I don't want everyone at school seeing me come off a wave." Ok, I admit, I don't surf so how am I to know that's a bad thing.

This is one that was choosen for another yearbook half page, however I left off the dedication verbiage.

Here is one that I really wanted to use as a silly joke. But ... no go. 

And last, just a pic I took of my daughter w/ our kitty. Doesn't he look happy?

Great piece of art and I have no idea on how it was originally made!

Below is another one that I came up with. Can you find the common denominator?

I had to tweak it quite a bit. I took the butterfly and cut him up. Made him into more of a painted version, sliced his wings, made him fly and gave him a poem to live for.

Postcard Sunday "Retaliation"

A new meme has come to my attention thanks to the Art Creations Friday, and that is Postcard Sunday! Again, I love a challenge! In keeping with Valentine's Day, this week's theme is "Cupid." I have never really thought very highly of Val's Day. Guess my mom pounded it into my head that it was Hallmark's way of making more money. So with that I titled mine "Retaliation." The cupid is from a painting titled "L'Amour au Papillon (Cupid with a Butterfly) by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. The pillars are from a photo of mine taken at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
