Yesterday I took Abbey down to dog beach for a run. On the way back I noticed that the beach was flocked with seagulls. There were so many that I had to run home, grab my camera and head back to take photos. It truly was amazing and the pictures don't even do it justice.
The first one shows what happens when someone disturbs them. You can almost see the man that is running through them.
I thought this was humorous. The lone brown bird. An outcast? Do they segregate amongst themselves? And, why do they always face the sun?

Really, really, beautiful captures. I wonder why there were so many birds in one place. Yes, a very nice sunset.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful shots. Happy new year :)
ReplyDeleteI sure am glad you went running back for your camera because those photo's are great.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a lot of birds! I think I can hear the flapping of their wings. I, too, visit Huntington Beach a lot. My dog love "dog beach" there. Your captures are so good!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing! The sunset is absolutely beautiful. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteReally cool pictures, patti. The lone bird is a juvenal. Takes about three years for a western gull to molt to it's beautiful gray and white plumage. so basically a teenager who's not interesting in hanging with the old folks....:o)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I should have known the bird woman would have a logical explanation! Thanks for the info! :) squawk~
