Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my dad's birthday. He would have been 80 today. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. He passed away 13 years ago from cancer... when my youngest was only 10 months old. I see him in my kids, I admire who he was and I wish I could be more like him. He was a very mild mannered man who carefully chose his words. He was respected in the architectural industry. Trustworthy and dependable. A good christian husband to my mom who misses him terribly. Could it be almost their 60th wedding anniversary coming up?
Six three and thin. An avid golfer, loved to work, and loved to laugh. Here is one of his last buildings that he designed. The Harborplace Towers in Long Beach, California. He definitely left his mark.
"Ears to you, Dad!"

  1. such a sweet & touching tribute. & such a neat looking building.
Your Dad sounds like an amazing man.

  2. Thanks Patti this wonderful post honoring our dad. He would have been great at 80.

  3. He sure would have! He probably would have had a PB&J today... like any other day. (Dan's favorite... mine now too)
